The state organised Public Lecture took centre stage once again after almost ten years hiatus, as the first quarterly public lecture of TMC Lagos state was held recently at the popular , Alaagba motor park, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.

Despite the heavy downpour  on 21st Shaban, 1434 (Sunday 30th of June, 2013) the much publicised Open-Air-Lecture witnessed  a massive turn out of TMC members and non-members alike who thronged the Iyana ipaja venue of the much- awaited event. Over 1000 Muslims from all walks of life graced the occasion.

Renowned scholar, Ustadh Ismail Busairy, Naibul Amir, Dawah and Cultural Affairs of TMC National Headquarters was the guest speaker at the event. The erudite speaker from Ibadan delivered a  double header lecture on the topics; THE STATUS OF WOMEN IN ISLAM and MAXIMIZING RAMADAN, to the delight of the packed audience. Other speakers at the event were Ustadh Lukman Abdur Raheem, Amir, TMC National Headquraters, Sheikh Musa Isa, Chairman League of Imam, Alimosho and Sheikh Abdul Ganniy Ayorinde, President Progressive League of Imam, Agege among others. If the  reactions that greeted the return of the state- organised open air lecture were anything to go by, the quarterly public lecture has thus heralded a renewed  yearning for such public events among Muslims as the re-introduction of the state public lecture was widely lauded .

The public lecture train now moves to Badagry on September 29th, 2013.
