IN DEFENCE OF PALESTINE AND AL-AQSA MOSQUE

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE BENEFICENT, THE MERCIFUL

BEING THE FOURTH SERMON FOR THE MONTH OF RAJAB,DATED 26TH RAJAB, 1444 AH (17TH FEBRUARY, 2023 CE).

TOPIC: IN DEFENCE OF AL-QUDS (PALESTINE) AND AL0AQSA MOSQUE

All Praises belong to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. The (good) end is for the righteous, and there is no aggression except against the wrongdoers. I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah alone. He has no partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger, the one who teaches people good. He did not leave one good thing that he did not direct us to. May the blessings and abundant peace of his Lord be upon him, his household members and his companions.

Thereafter…

Servants of Allah! I enjoin you to fear Allah Ta’alah, and I warn you and myself against disobeying Him and violating His command, as He, the Most High, says: (مَّنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلِنَفْسِه، وَمَنْ أَسَاءَ فَعَلَيْهَا، وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ) “Whosoever does righteous good deed it is for (the benefit of) his ownself, and whosoever does evil, it is against his ownself, and your Lord is not at all unjust to (His) slaves.” (Fussilat: 46).

Dear Muslim Brothers! The topic of our conversation on this Friday is about one of the most prioritized issues for muslims and one of the greatest issues in this era, which is the issue of Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque. This talk comes on the occasion of the third annual World Al-Quds Week, and it is in defense of Palestine and in support of its cause. It is our foremost cause, and what a great cause it is! Hearts are torn apart, skins shiver, and eyes cry over what is happening to our sons and daughters in Al-Quds (Palestine), and they are writing history with their wealth, lives, and blood in defense of Al-Quds, its Al-Aqsa Mosque, and its land, Palestine.

Servants of Allah! Al-Aqsa Mosque has a great place in Islam, as it is the first of the two qiblas, the second of the two mosques, and the third of the Two Holy Mosques, the place of the night Journey of the Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the place of his ascent to heaven.

The Most High said: (سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي أَسْرَىٰ بِعَبْدِهِ لَيْلًا مِّنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الْأَقْصَى الَّذِي بَارَكْنَا حَوْلَهُ لِنُرِيَهُ مِنْ آيَاتِنَا، إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ) “Glorified (and Exalted) be He (Allah) [above all that (evil) they associate with Him] Who took His slave (Muhammad SAW) for a journey by night from Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah) to the farthest mosque (in Jerusalem), the neighborhood whereof We have blessed, in order that We might show him (Muhammad SAW) of Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.). Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.” (Al-Israa:1).

Just as Palestine is the holy land that Allah Ta’alah has blessed and blessed its surroundings. It is the land of Allah’s messages, in which a big number of prophets and messengers, peace be upon them, lived and were sent.

The Most High said: (يَا قَوْمِ ادْخُلُوا الْأَرْضَ الْمُقَدَّسَةَ الَّتِي كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ وَلَا تَرْتَدُّوا عَلَىٰ أَدْبَارِكُمْ فَتَنقَلِبُوا خَاسِرِينَ) “O my people! Enter the holy land (Palestine) which Allah has assigned to you, and turn not back (in flight) for then you will be returned as losers.” (Al-Maaidah: 21).

And He, the Most High also said: (وَأَوْرَثْنَا الْقَوْمَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَارِقَ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبَهَا الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا) “And We made the people who were considered weak to inherit the eastern parts of the land and the western parts thereof which We have blessed…” (Al-‘Araaf:137).

And the Most High said: (وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا لِلْعَالَمِينَ) “And We rescued him and Lout (Lot) to the land which We have blessed for the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns).” (Al-Anbiyaa: 71).

The merits of the Holy Land and Al-Aqsa Mosque are many in the Noble Qur’an, just as the Sunnah of the Prophet is replete with the grace and sanctity of this land and the status of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) encouraged us to visit it and pray in it. In a sound hadith collected by Bukhaari on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, he (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not travel except to three mosques: the Sacred Mosque, the Prophet’s Mosque (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) and Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

Today, Al-Aqsa Mosque is in grave danger, as the Zionists are trying, threatening, and committing heinous acts with bravado and striving to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque and build the alleged temple that the Jews had planned since their filthy feet were set in the mosque in the year 1967, when they then began excavations under Al-Aqsa under the pretext of searching for traces of their alleged temple.

O Muslims! The blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque has become violated by hordes of extremists and Jewish settlers, who were allowed by the occupation authorities to enter it by force and under the protection of the Israeli police, who turned the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque into a military barracks. This is at a time when the occupation authorities prevent Muslim faithful from getting to Al-Aqsa Mosque, and impede construction and necessary maintenance materials, which leads to the possibility of collapse in the mosque facilities, as happened a while ago with the wall of the Western Islamic Museum located in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Therefore, Al-Aqsa is calling you for help, O Muslims everywhere, so hasten to its aid, and stand by your righteous dutiful brothers striving and worshipping inside Al-Aqsa Mosque, the people of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the people of Palestine. Support them with words, supplications, mobilization, and do everything necessary for the continued steadfastness of these multitude of heros from the people of Palestine and the righteous people of Al-Aqsa.

And let our collective motto be “We all are for the ransom of Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa,” and let us announce the general call to action with all our capacity everywhere, everyone according to his ability and capabilities in defence of our honor, dignity, and pride, for Al-Aqsa is the honor of the Ummah and its creed.

Dear brothers! All our work and effort these days must be aimed at the service of Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa, and we must take advantage of the seasons and times that Allah answers prayers more in resorting to Allah Ta’alah to unite the Ummah, gather its ranks, raise its voice and banner, to give it victory over its enemy, and liberate the farthest parts of it.

We must also direct our wealth to support our brothers in Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and Al-Aqsa, as they suffer from ‘Jewification’ and oppression by all Zionist instruments of oppression.

One of the means of defence is to make what is happening in Al-Aqsa Mosque part of what we spread on social media, and let the news of Al-Quds be a priority for us in our publications.

And let us send a message to our brothers in Al-Aqsa Mosque that we are with them, sharing their pain and battles and a message to the occupation force that whoever wants to harm Al-Aqsa Mosque, we will rise up against them.

O believers! We have been told by the Noble Qur’an in Suratul-Israai that the Children of Israel are causing corruption in this land twice, and that each time they will rise to great heights, and your Lord has given permission to raise up against them those who will inflict upon them the worst punishment, until the Day of Resurrection, for their disbelief and their deviation from the Truth, and Allah Ta’alah has warned them with His Words: (وإن عدتم عدنا وجلعنا جهنم للكافرين حصيرا) “but if you return (to sins), We shall return (to Our Punishment). And We have made Hell a prison for the disbelievers.” (Al-Israa: 8). And you should know that Allah’s promise is true, and that Allah does not break his promise, and be of a single heart, and hold fast to his religion, and support Allah with your assistance to his Holy House until, through your effort, Allah actualizes the victory and empowerment.

Allah Ta’alah says: (وَكَانَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنَا نَصْرُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ) “…and it was ever a duty incumbent upon Us, to help the believers.” (Al-Rum: 47).

(إِنَّا لَنَنصُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَيَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْأَشْهَادُ) “Verily, We will indeed make victorious Our Messengers and those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) in this world’s life and on the Day when the witnesses will stand forth, (i.e. Day of Resurrection)” (Ghaafir: 51).

I say these words and ask Allah for forgiveness for me and you.

THE SECOND SERMON

Indeed all praises are due to Allah, we praise Him, exalted is He. We thank Him for His countless blessings upon us. We seek peace and blessings upon the best of Allah’s entire creation, our Master Muhammad, his family and companions, and all those who follow them in righteousness till the day of recompense.

As to what follows,

Dear servants of Allah, we want to use this mimbar to appeal to all citizenry to exercise patience in the reality we are facing in our country; concerning the issue of Naira Redesign Imbroglio and the resultant hardship. We should not allow the tense situation to degenerate into an uncontrollable outcomes. Increase in your prayer for Allah’s intervention, control, and guidance. Allah says: (‌وَإِن ‌تَصۡبِرُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ فَإِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنۡ عَزۡمِ ٱلۡأُمُورِ ) “But if you are patient and fear Allah, indeed that is of the matter worthy of determination.” (Al-Imran: 186)

Secondly, Allah says:

“Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.” (17:1)

Dear Servants of Allah, it is the journey of Israa and Mi’raj, this solemn incident which occurred before the migration of the Prophet to Medina.

As for the Israa: it is an earthly journey from Makkah to Jerusalem. As for the Mi’raj: it is the heavenly journey from Jerusalem to the lofty heavens, then to Sidrat al-Muntaha, then the meeting with the Almighty of the heavens and the earth, Glory be to Him.

Be aware that there are lessons in this great journey, we shall go through some of them:

1- Belief in the journey of Isra and Mi’raj is part of the Muslim’s faith, because it is one of the miracles with which Allah supported His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and belief in the miracle is part of the Islamic faith, and it is a test of the faith of the believers and the cause of suspicion to the hypocrites.

2- Among them is Allah’s kindness to His servants, and His support for His chosen ones and the callers to His path. The journey of Isra and Mi’raj came- after the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and his companions became severely harmed- as an honor from Allah, the Exalted, to them, and a renewal of their determination and steadfastness in the religion, and their trust in Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.

3- The Night Journey of the Prophet, peace be upon him, from the Sacred Mosque in Makkah to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which was in the hands of the Children of Israel, is an indication that the Prophet, peace be upon him, will inherit the leadership of the nations of the world, and that his nation will inherit this country (Palestine).

4- It is as though the prayers of the prophets, peace be upon them, behind him, is a way of saying to those who disobey him (Muhammad) among the Jews, Christians and others, that if we were alive, we would have followed him, thus what is the matter with you that you do not follow him while he is among you.

5- There is an indication of the greatness of solat in this incident, as Allah singled it out among the worships to be obligated in the heaven when He spoke without an intermediary to His Messenger peace be upon him.

6- Among the lessons is in this journey is a reminder to Muslims of the great trust, I mean the land of Isra and Mi’raj, the blessed land of Al-Aqsa that Allah has linked with the bond of faith, it is a trust on the shoulders of all Muslims, we ask Allah to purify it from the usurping Jews.

What is been perpetrated today by the Zionists and the material and moral support they receive from their allies; they are based on false prophecies and distorted books, they work according to religious convictions, and their leaders do say: There is no value for Israel without Jerusalem, and there is no value for Jerusalem without Al-Aqsa Mosque, this mosque that they prevent Muslims from entering, and they seek to demolish it through excavations and tunnels beneath it, to build the alleged temple in its place.

The inevitable duty – O servants of Allah – in a time of seriousness and struggle, is vigilance, coming together, hard work, coalition and neglecting disagreement.

It is not appropriate for the nation of Islam to be drowned in irrelevant disputes, regional views, or selfishness. The great interests of the nation must take precedence over every subsidiary interest, and calls for truth and justice, and initiatives of firmness and reason, must be heard by dropping all differences, uniting the Ummah in the face of crises: (وَاعْتَصِمُواْ بِحَبْلِ اللّهِ جَمِيعاً وَلاَ تَفَرَّقُواْ ) “And hold fast to the rope of Allah all together, and do not be divided” [Al-Imran: 103].
