16th Shawwal1442A.H
(28th May,2021 C.E)

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE
MOST BENEFICENT THE MOST MERCIFUL
BEING THE THIRD SERMON FOR THE MONTH OF SHAWWAL DATED 16TH SHAAWWAL 1442 AH (28TH MAY, 2021 CE)
THE HARMFUL EFFECTS OF SATELLITE CHANNELS
All Praises belong to Allah. We praise Him, We seek His help, and seek His forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls and our bad deeds. Whoever Allah guides, there is none that can mislead him, and whoever is misled, there is none that can be his guide. I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah alone. He has no partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is his servant and his Messenger..
Thereafter,
Oh servants of Allah, I enjoin you and myself with the fear of Allah, the Almighty secretly and openly, as it is the intended goal of all acts of obedience and all Do’s and Don’ts of Allah. The Almighty Allah said: "Oh mankind! Worship your Lord, Who has created you and those before you, in the hope of attaining piety".(Al-Baqarah: 21)
Brothers and sisters in faith, this is the third meeting in the month of Shawwal, in which the sermon talks about a current issue that comes to the hearing of each of us day and night: The harms of satellite channels and their effect on our society today.
Being aware of the harms of satellite channels has become an individual and collective responsibility at this time. And in the words of the Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him): "You are all shepherds and all of you are responsible for his flock" This hadith is general, and then he mentioned specifics in another Hadith: "the leader is a shepherd, the man is a shepherd of his household, and the woman is a shepherd of the house of her husband and her children". Then it was generalized with: "and each will be asked about his flock". It is for that reason that Allah commanded the fathers with regards to their children by saying: “O you who believe, protect yourselves and your family from the Fire, whose fuel is people and stones.” (At-Tahreem: 6), and He mandated it on the ummah to enjoin good and forbid evil, and giving admonition, making it the safety net for the ummah, and it’s being the best Ummah is based on that: "You are the best ‘Ummah ever raised for mankind. You bid the Fair and forbid the Unfair, and you believe in Allah…" (Aal-Imraan: 110). He commanded reminding (ourselves) and forbade that we become negligent.
The writer, Fahmy Howeidi was right when he said: "French colonialism left the streets of Tunisia in 1956 CE, but it returned to it in 1989 CE. It did not return to the markets, but rather it returned to share our living spaces with us in our homes, our solitude in our rooms, and staying with us in our beds. It returned to eliminate religion and language and morals. It used to reside among us by force, but it returned only for us to accept it with love and good welcome. We used to look at it and abhor it, but now we enjoy watching it and sitting with it. It is the new colonialism, not like the colonization of the land, but rather the colonization of hearts. It’s dangers threatens everyone – young men and women, old men and women, fathers and mothers.’
He continued on to say: "The French left Tunisia in 1956CE and returned in 1989CE to invade every home, and was consistently spending 20 hours inside it everyday, exerting their influence on language, morals, thought, and consciousness among the young, old, women, men, youth, and girls. It is the greatest danger that was threatening an entire generation".
The danger of these satellite channels to Islam is in the aqeedah, the behavior and moral character. And it is on Muslims, male and female, young and old, that none but only Allah knows its extent, and then those who are grounded in knowledge. The danger is general, but it is worse for the young active ones and the youth, and this is made clear in the following:
– Corruption of aqeedah by creating doubts in many of the settled and established doctrines and principles.
– Moral corruption, by beautifying vices and spreading it among believing men and women, insulting virtue, and seeking to kill modesty, chastity, and protective jealousy.
– Breaking the psychological barrier between muslims and the unbelievers, and upsetting the aqeedah of al-walaa wal-baraa (loving and breaking free for Allah’s sake),, which if a Muslim loses it, he loses everything.
– The loss of the best periods of life, the period of youth, in dubbed cartoons films and games, instead of using it for something that would benefit him in his religion and worldly life.
– Attention to nonsense and trivial things, such as interest in songs, watching soap operas, and matches, especially participation in the World Cup.
– The health damage on the eyes and the back resulting from sitting in front of these devices for long hours,
– Negative effects on educational attainment.
– Getting accustomed to staying up late, which affects the observance of Salaat Subh at its time, and changing the night to day, and the day to night, contrary to what our Lord has prescribed for us: "and we made the night a cover. And we made the day (a means of) living)"
– Working on the spread of crime among youth and adolescents
– Striving to disintegrate the muslim family like family of the unbelievers were disintegrated.
– Propagating christianity, as there networks for christian programs supervised by the World Council of Churches
These are just a few out of many, and the tip of the iceberg, of the damages of satellite channels aimed at expelling muslims from their religion, and spreading immorality among them. So tit is incumbent upon those in charge of the affairs (of Muslims) from the governments, scholars, and guardians at homes to pay attention to this danger, and make effort to block it, and protect the young upcoming ones from its many negative effects.

THE SECOND SERMON
All praises are due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Peace and blessings be upon the messenger of Allah, his household, his entire companions. Allah sent him with guidance and the true religion to overcome all other religions, Allah suffices as a witness. I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah alone. He has no partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is his servant and his Messenger..

O Muslim nation .. Our duty as a Muslim nation towards Palestine is a great one, and our role in supporting them is very essential as follow:

1 – The first duty is to purify our intention, renew our faith, and connect ourselves to Allah, and seek help from Him, and trust in Him in all our actions, strivings and our sacrifices .. Then we have certainty that jihad is the peak of Islam, and therein is our glory.
2- – That every Muslim family implant in its heart and the hearts of its children that the Palestine issue is its essential cause, its greatest concern, and its overriding concern, and to teach that to its sons and daughters, and to nurse them in the cradle with the milk of the love for Allah and the love of his Messenger and the love of striving for the sake of Allah, and that the love of Palestine and the Al-Aqsa Mosque is from Faith … and to fortify them with a protective guide against the claim of equality between jihad and terrorism, and that jihad is a sacrifice in order to repel the usurper/ occupier and defend the honor and expel the occupier, and for the word of Allah to reign supreme, and that terrorism is the occupation of the countries of others, and the plundering of their resources, the threatening of its people living in safety, and the shedding of innocent blood of the people of the nation, including women and children.

3- Supporting the oppressed and helping them with what every Muslim man and woman can do. Every Muslim men and woman should set aside an amount in his budget to help his oppressed brothers, in the name of – "The Palestine Project" at least every month. Whoever adds more, Allah adds more for him. The children should be raised to deduct from their expenses to support children, orphans and displaced persons among the Palestinian children.

4- Whoever is not able to perform financial jihad, then it is his duty to fill his heart with love for the challengers of the oppressors, a love that prompts him to view people base on the justice of their cause, and the necessity of their victory, and to urge people to donate to them .. and to stay up at night connected to supplication in the middle of the night with a grieving heart and a painful heart, that Allah take away their anguish, and that Allah supports them .. and the arrows of the night is effective, and does not miss the target. Allah says: (لَيْسَ عَلَى الضُّعَفَاءِ وَلا عَلَى الْمَرْضَى وَلا عَلَى الَّذِينَ لا يَجِدُونَ مَا يُنْفِقُونَ حَرَجٌ إِذَا نَصَحُوا لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ مَا عَلَى الْمُحْسِنِينَ مِنْ سَبِيلٍ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ) “There is no blame on the weak, the sick, or those lacking the means ˹if they stay behind˺, as long as they are true to Allah and His Messenger. There is no blame on the good-doers. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surat At-tawbah: 91)

Of the issues worthy of note at this moment with mournful tears, pure reverence and full surrender to the judgment and destiny of the Creator, is an accident of a plane crash while the plane was landing at the Kaduna International Airport due to bad weather conditions. The crash occurred last Friday (May 21, 2021), and it claimed the life of the Newly appointed Chief of Army Staff of the Nigerian Army, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Al-Tahir, (Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru) and ten other officers on board. We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return!!! Allah, the Almighty said: (‌كُلُّ ‌نَفْسٍ ذائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنا تُرْجَعُونَ" (الروم: ٥٧)) “Every soul will taste death, then to Us you will ˹all˺ be returned.” (Al-Rum: 57).
The Almighty also said: ("‌أَيْنَما ‌تَكُونُوا ‌يُدْرِكْكُمُ الْمَوْتُ وَلَوْ كُنْتُمْ فِي بُرُوجٍ مُشَيَّدَةٍ وَإِنْ تُصِبْهُمْ حَسَنَةٌ يَقُولُوا هذِهِ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ وَإِنْ تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَقُولُوا هذِهِ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ قُلْ كُلٌّ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ فَمالِ هؤُلاءِ الْقَوْمِ لا يَكادُونَ يَفْقَهُونَ حَدِيثاً" (سورة النساء: ٧٨)) " Wherever you may be, death will overcome you—even if you were in fortified towers.” When something good befalls them, they say, “This is from Allah,” but when something evil befalls them, they say, “This is from you.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Both have been destined by Allah.” So what is the matter with these people? They can hardly comprehend anything! " (Surah An-Nisaa: 78).
We hereby send to the families of the victims, our deepest condolences and sympathy for this great disaster, hoping for the souls of the Muslim victims peace and mercy, we also send our condolences to the families and relatives of the victims, as we pray for them patience and solace, and we pray for the injured a speedy recovery.
